Here's a recent episode of Crucible Comic I'm working on with 2000Ad artist Smuzz (perhaps best known for his work on ABC Warriors, but trust me, he's done much more than that). Lettered by Jim Campbell you can read it online on Tapastic, and we'd really welcome more subscribers to really start plugging the book on the platform: www.tapastic.com/series/Crucib…. Your support much appreciated.
An Announcement
Hello, I have, reluctantly, removed all images uploaded to DeviantArt over the past 15 years. I have been a Core Member in the past, but I'm aware that lapsed a while ago. The images were, largely, artworks connected with projects I have either written or edited. While I appreciate DeviantArt has taken steps to protect art from being included in its "DreamUp" AI learning program, I don't feel it is appropriate for me to continue to feature others work here, despite the "safeguards" announced. I'm sorry if this disappoints. I'm even sorrier I had to choose to do this. Thank you for reading.
Doctor Who, VCs and Mohicans, too!
Something for the weekend, folks? Here’s this week’s list of comics on sale now in comic shops across the UK. As usual, our list highlights the work of British creators and publishers. You may also be already thinking about Christmas (some people do, advertisers, mainly), so you may also like to check out this year’s crop of annuals, which are invading bookshops at a steady pace right now: http://downthetubes.net/?p=24321
Guardian newspaper launches #OpenComics project
The Guardian Witness has launched its #OpenComics call out, which aims is to get creators of all skill levels to share comics you’ve created that reveal the personal and political untold stories from around the world: http://downthetubes.net/?p=24212
Exploring the Tapastic web comic platform
Here are some gems I’ve discovered on the Tapastic web comics platform which I think downthetubes readers might enjoy. All the strips mentioned here are free to read, but creators need to achieve 500 subscribers before they can start to reach out to their audience and offer Patreon-style goodies in return for financial backing: http://downthetubes.net/?p=24288
