I've been trying out Mastodon now for a couple of days. Twitter, being basically a cesspool already and probably going worse with Elon Musk at the helm, which means that it might become a place I'd like to avoid, caused me to go look for an alternative. I almost immediately had the owner tell me that there should be a content warning on my work, while I did check that box in my personal prefs and I only posted stuff I post on Instagram and Facebook too. That check box turned out to be just for my own browsing. Not like on Deviant Art where you can set a Mature Content fence up and nobody can see anything, unless they uncheck that box in their own prefs.
